This standard size DVD is most commonly used for commercial DVD-Video releases. With 8.5Gb of storage the DVD-9 is able to hold full length movies and can include special features, e.g. games, interactive sections. DVD-9 is a single-sided, double layer DVD which means that it can hold twice as much video/data as the 5" DVD-5 ROM.

The convenient size of the 'mini' version DVD makes it ideal if you want to mail out your video and audio material - it's extremely lightweight so can be sent by either first or second class post. It's also great for exhibition handouts, conferences and seminars.

It works in exactly the same way as a CD-ROM - you simply insert it into any tray-loading drive on a pc, or DVD player.
