To ensure you get the very best print and save delays please follow the instructions below for screen-printed CD-Rs & DVD-Rs or screen-printing on replicated CD-ROM's & DVD-5
Artwork to be supplied in - QuarkXpress, Adobe PhotoShop, Adobe Illustrator or a high resolution PDF, Tiff or Jpeg. All images should be 300 dpi at actual size for a crisp image. Artwork can be sent by e-mail or disc.
Separation – To achieve the best results for onbody print using the 4-colour process (CMYK), please ensure that the image is set for 4-colour separation. If your image is to be printed in spot colours set the colours and please list them on your order.
Where applicable supply all font files and logos used in your final image.
We recommend that font sizes for any texts are not allowed to drop below 6pts on your artwork if the text is 4-colour separated. If text needs to be smaller than this, use one colour only to avoid registration problems, which may cause blurring of the text.
Be sure to set trapping. Otherwise artwork may over print where it should knock out and vice versa. Scanned images - DO NOT save as RGB - This will cause images to be colour separated contrary to your requirements.
Please remember that screen-printing, like all commercial-printing processes has its limitations. Tints, vignettes, blends and some particularly complex designs do not always print. We can advise you on this.
All tints should be kept above a minimum 30% print to ensure a good result. If artwork is supplied below this level, it may result in images not showing up as strongly as intended or (on occasion) at all. Similarly, tints, as high as 90% or above will most likely seem to come out in solid colour (i.e. 100%).
Colours:
Make sure that everything in colour on your artwork is defined in CMYK mode or in Pantone Spot colour. (Ensure PMS numbers are included)
Images:
All colour bitmaps MUST be saved in CMYK format (NOT RGB or indexed colour)
Black & White images can be saved in Greyscale format.
ALL bitmaps should be imported to DTP packages at the correct size that they will be printed at a resolution of 300dpi. To save time include all images on the 'Design CD-R
Fonts:
Convert all text to curves or outlines (especially Logos) this avoids problems if we do not have a specific font. To save time include all font files on the 'Design CD-R
